Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie said:

‘He's an excellent young goalkeeper who is out of contract, and we are interested.

‘We will have a chat with him and see where it goes from there.'

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp wants more competition for ex Royals keeper Shaka Hislop, who is 35.

This is massive news for Reading who could lose to Portsmouth again just like they did in 2000 when they took Linvoy Primus on a free transfer. He has proved to be a fantastic signing for them, winning the Player of the Season award in their Championship winning season.
