Following his straight red card in the 2-1 defeat to Preston North End last night at Deepdale,on-loan Sheffield Wednesday striker Lloyd Owusu is facing a 3 game suspension which would rule him out of the games against Cardiff City,Sunderland and Coventry City. He wants to stay at the club, the majority of fans want him to stay and so do his current teammates but the most important question is does Steve Coppell want him to stay?

Owusu has made a great impact since signing before Christmas on loan. He made his debut in the 3-0 defeat to Wimbledon and was the only cheer that day.

He scored his 1st goal against Ipswich Town, which was a cracking header from a Scott Murray cross and has proved to be a fans favourite ever since.

The Slough born striker started his career in non-league football at Slough Town before moving to 2nd Division strugglers Brentford. There he made his name and after 3 seasons left the club to join Sheffield Wednesday.

But since moving north, Owusu has suffered with confidence and the goals have dried up for him.

But time is running out for Lloyd as he proves his worth to the team.

With Nicky Forster already injured and the latest from him is progress is slower than hoped, Coppell may be forced to go with a forward pairing of Shaun Goater and recent signing Dave Kitson.

Owusu wouldn't cost the Royals much with Sheffield Wednesday likely to ask for a small transfer fee, possibly in the region of £25,000 + and Owusu isn’t a big earner, so his wages won't be a problem.

But the clock is ticking for Owusu with his last game against West Ham and former Royals boss Alan Pardew.
