Many thanks for your interest and support. I am sending this to a blind copy distribution list in case some of you would prefer to not have your email details distributed publicly.

We have got off to a good start with coverage on Radio 107, 210 (someone told me radio 2 as well) and the front page of the Reading Evening Post last week. The Post plan a follow up article this week and have asked my to give an update on some of the ideas for a Reading Team Anthem.

I have had over 50 suggestions and emails - many songs - several of them printable.

There have been active discussions on most of the "unofficial" Reading fans web sites - which have generated more ideas and a lot of interest.

I have collected many of the existing "classic" Reading team and player songs and plan a songsheet on these for a forthcoming home match.

I attach where I have got to on player-specific songs - if you can fill in any of the gaps please drop me an email.

My priority now is to get more involvement in the search for a team anthem - ideally through press and radio competitions.

I will also drive through the first songsheet of "classic songs and chants".

Any more songs you know of would be welcome at this stage.

Please send this email on to any other Reading fans you think would be interested. If you copy me on your mail I will add them to the overall distribution list. If we can each find 5 or 10 contacts we can reach a lot of people.

Dear All,

Here is where I have got to with the songsheet, hope to have it printed for the Sheffield match (I know the page order is not correct yet).

Objective of this first one is to set the baseline and share what is sung already. (Also to show some progress). I hope that later editions will focus on the team anthem, new player songs, chants to the opposition etc..

Desperately need song for Ricky Newman, also Kitson and Savage if they exist - please send me any you know. I need them this week to hit the printer's deadline

Also looking for 10 volunteers to hand out songsheets at the stadium, about 1.5 hours before kick off - please let me now if you can help.

Look out for a follow-up article on Team Anthem in the Post one evening this week.
