Royals captain Adie Williams has been called up for the Wales squad to play Scotland on the 18th February in Cardiff while it looks like he could be facing Graeme Murty and Scott Murray after they look likely to be called up for Scotland's squad. Reading hasn't really had a tradition of players playing for their respective countries but this looks likely to change with the increasing number of players getting selected.

Adie Williams has been selected for Wales for a number of years now but has been seen as a "back-up" player.His last appearence for Wales came in the 2-0 defeat to USA back at the end of May.But if he was to be selected for the friendly against Scotland,it would certainly provide some local interest with both Scott Murray and Greame Murty looking likely to be called up for Berti Vogts Scotland.
Murty recently made his international debut for Scotland B against Turkey B and impressed but was forced off injured after being the victim of a horrible tackle which saw him sidelined for a few weeks.While Murray also played in that game and recieved the Man of the Match award.That was his 2nd game for Scotland after playing for the B side the year before against Germany B.

If all 3 were to be selected,they would add their names to the current list of stars who have featured for their country's before.

The most famous Royal of previous years has to be Steve Sidwell.He made his England U21 debut last year and scored and recieved the Man of the Match award.

Omar Daley and Simieon Howell are both currently away with the Jamaica squad's as they look to qualify for the Olympic Games to be held in Athens,Greece later this year.

Marcus Hahnemann recieved a good boost last year as he went to the Confederations Cup with USA as 3rd choice goalkeeper.He didn't play out in France but it was still good news for himself and the club.

Another current regular is Icelandic defender Ivar Ingimarrson.He has played for his country many times and his country will help England with Euro 2004 as they take part in a 3 country tournament along with England and Japan taking place at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Shaun Goater has represented his beloved Bermuda many times and he is a hero back home with him having his own bank holiday named after him.

Nathan Tyson shot to fame last season for England U20's with a brace against Germany U20's,and was awarded the Sky Sports Man of the Match.He would have travelled to the U20 championship's but it was delayed due to security fear's.

Royals number 2 goalie Jamie Young his highly tipped as "1 for the future" and was recently called up for England U19's.

The Royals also have a growing list of academy stars who are getting selected for their countries and this includes highly rated Darren Campbell.

With the Royals now getting recognition around the world for their players,the future is looking bright.
