Reading have rejected an approach for forward Nicky Forster from Division 1 rivals, Wigan Athletic. Forster though is out of Saturdays game against Ipswich because of injury. It has been in a number of the national newspapers that Wigan had made a bid of around £750,000 for Forster who scored two against the Latics at the JJB stadium only a month ago.
Wigan have been looking to strengthen their forward line after losing Geoff Horsfield to West Brom and failing in a bid for Southampton’s, Brett Ormerod. Nicky Hammond has clearly stated that Forster will not be allowed to go and manager, Steve Coppell, has backed this up. It was recently that Forster said that he wants to extend his contract at the Madejski and with teams becoming interested in the 30 year old it may be the time to do so.
Wigan have also made a bid for West Brom's Transfer listed, Jason Roberts which is believed to be around £1.7 Million.
