Ex-England International and one of the stars of the 1970's World Cup campaign Alan Mullery has added his name to the ever-growing list of admirers currently watching young blues midfielder Darren Carter.

Following his brace in the 3-0 FA Cup win against Leeds at the weekend young Blues midfielder Darren Carter has been on the recieving end of some glowing reviews.

One of which was given to him by former England international Alan Mullery. Mullery told theFA.com:

"It's always nice to see a goalscoring midfielder!"

"It's part of the modern game, midfielders having the energy to get into both penalty areas"

"Darren was the major reason Birmingham are in today's Fourth Round draw, unlike some Premiership clubs."

Carter, who only returned from a loan spell at Sunderland last month, has recieved accolades for his recent performances from all areas of the media and there are even talks of an England call up for the young midfielder.

Carter himself though is more than content with letting his football do the talking and establishing himself as a first team regular:

"I'm pleased with the way things are going at the moment and the way that I'm playing."

"As long as the gaffer and Eric are happy with me as well then hopefully they'll keep picking me."

"That's my aim at the moment to keep the shirt and stay in the team."
