It is rumoured that Blues manager Steve Bruce has been offered Porto sriker Benni McCarthy by the South African's agent. McCarthy has previously been linked to a move to the Premiership with Everton and Aston Villa.

Porto striker Benni McCarthy has been offered to Blues manager Steve Bruce as a potential transfer option come the January transfer window. It is widely known that Birmingham are in the market for a striker since Mikael Forssell was ruled out for the season.

The South African striker has previously been a target for Aston Villa and Everton and is sure to attract attention from other clubs should Porto be willing to sell him. The fee for McCarthy is believed to be around £5million but Porto could value him higher especially after his last minute winner against Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Steve Bruce confirmed McCarthy has been a name touted around by agents in a interview with the Birmingham Evening Mail: "Benni McCarthy's another one who agents have been constantly talking about."
