Liverpool's German star shipping off to Homeland?

Gerard Houllier has told German star Dietmar Hamann he will get a new contract at Liverpool if he maintains his current impressive form. The German has said that Schalke and Stuttgart would be decent prospects if his isn't offered a new extension. Club Crest from ukfootballstadiums

The Liverpool boss has told Didi Hamann that he will be on the recieving end of a new contract if his current form continues, but insists that no negotiations have taken place as of yet.

He said: "I spoke to Didi and he has not mentioned anything of what I have read.

"But obviously if Didi performs at the level he is at the moment, we will be extremely happy to prolong his contract.

"At the moment, talks have not even started."
