Standard Liege have made it clear that Belgian striker Emile Mpenza will not be joining Newcastle in the winter break as he is a major part of the side.

 

Standard Liege have layed reports to rest that Belgian international striker Emile Mpenza is on his way to Newcastle United.

He is a target for Sir Bobby Robson, but Standard football chief Michel Preud'homme said: "Emile can't leave us during the winter break. He's too important for us."
