Manchester United Captain Roy Keane has backed Manager Sir Alex Ferguson and his decision to sell David Beckham. Manchester United captain Roy Keane has said the team can cope with the loss of star midfielder David Beckham to Real Madrid.

Keane told Sky Sports News: “He’s a good lad but over the years a lot of good players have left United.

“That’s football. It’s unfortunate when a player leaves a club but players come and go.

“It’s sad to see him leave but our manager does what’s best for Manchester United. If he thinks selling him is the best for us he is all right to do it.”

David Beckham signed for Real Madrid last night and the deal will be completed on July 1st.
