So it’s a trip to Loftus Road tomorrow for Harriers in the first round of the LDV Trophy. To be honest I’m not too optimistic about our chances against a team near the top of division two. You never know they might put out their reserves and we could sneak it, probably not though. I wont be going myself as a midweek trip to London is a bit too difficult and given its only the LDV as well. The LDV is ok but it is unlikely that we will get to the final and if you don’t make the final of this competition, then there’s little point to it. what I mean is, I know we wont get very far in the Carling or FA Cup but those can be moneyspinners.
Anyway Britt continues to be under immense pressure as many fans continue to call for his head. he is apparently close to signing Wayne Hatswell from Chester City. This could be a good move, although I know little about the player, some report that he is one of the best defenders in the Conference. Basically unless he is dominant in the air then there’s no point to it. We need a big man at the back or no one at all. Plus we need a big striker. That’s our only chance in my view, to get out of this mess.
WE NEED
A BIG DEFENDER
AND A BIG STRIKER.
Yes I know we’ve got John Williams but unfortunately he is not the answer. If Britt can get these then we may stand a chance. He is reported to be after three. We need quality now and no short term loan deals. The above two positions need permanent or season long loan deals at the very least.
I may sound daft mentioning size but we wont get away with it, its simple. Iam also not implying that we should change tactics either. So many teams launch it these days and unless you’ve got the above then your putting yourself at a disadvantage. It may be ok if you can buy real quality but we cant can we so there you have it. another must is for JJ Melligan to stay. If we can sign 3 good uns, with at least 2 permanent or season long and JJ stays, then we’ve got a chance.
I don’t enjoy criticising but I’m afraid the above is true. I would like nothing more than for Britt to get us out of it. whether he can or not remains to be seen, but I wish him well. Sorry I cant be there tomorrow, but I’ll be thinking about you, and looking at teletext every 2 mins annoying my missus.
