KJ gives his views on the trialists at Aggborough. Who will stay or go as Manager Ian Britton faces a tough choice over the next week or so.
HARRIERS ON TRIAL
Unfortunately I haven’t seen every game, but I will give my opinions based on what I know and what I’ve heard from other fans. No doubt there will be a few tough decisions ahead for Britt.
Tough decisons ahead for Britt
Kenny Coleman The former Wolves man has been quite impressive in a wing back role. Having seen his performances last season I would say he’s worth at least a short term deal.
Graham Ward Another former Wanderer and again I’ve been impressed as have many fans around me. The young Irishman is certainly worth taking on, again at least short term.
Mark Danks Of course, Mark has now left us. I did see him at Evesham a game which was difficult to judge. His size was against him though and I think up front we need a big man rather than another Ian Foster type.
Eliot Paschalis Again only saw him at Evesham, he looked quite good though but he failed to impress Britt.
John Williams A difficult one here, as many people, myself included, are already aware of him. The question is, do we want a Swansea cast off ? However the big man has been quite impressive from what I’ve seen and could be worth a short term deal. You never know, he might just do a job for us, after all, wasn’t Julian Alsopp a Swansea cast off as well? He was set to join Stourbridge, so that does say something. I would say short term only, due to his age.
Nick Heath Young Nick has already played in the league, coming on at Macclesfield last season. To be honest, I haven’t seen enough of him, would surely be worth keeping, if only on similar deal as Khela, if that’s possible of course.
Kyle Lightbourne Another veteran, Kyle has yet to impress me to be honest. Again, another player to be released by a fellow 3rd division club, this time Macclesfield. He has missed a few sitters, so at the moment I would say no.
Nerada The former Spurs and Arsenal youngster has really impressed me. I did some checking back he did play a few games for Bournemouth last season. So here’s one I would say yes to, the only difficulty could be his position. Narada plays as a left wing back, a very specialist position. Could we afford to have two left wing backs
Craig Wilding Haven’t seen much of Craig, still not sure if he’s a striker or midfielder. So it’s a don’t know.
Adam Willis I would definitely sign the former Swindon man. The only thing against him is his height. Maybe we could do with a giant at the back. He’s looked very good in the games I’ve seen him in.
So its now left up to Britt to make the decisions. It must be difficult, after all some may impress in training and maybe Britt can see something we cant. Another problem will be finances as well. One bright note though could be higher grade players coming down the pecking order and having trials with us in the final two friendlies.
NEXT UP WALSALL WED 30TH JULY K.O. 7.30PM.
