Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer has appointed three more of his children to the Old Trafford board of directors.

Sons Kevin, 44, Edward, 36, and daughter Darcie, 37 have all become non-executive directors, joining Joel, Ave and Bryan in the Old Trafford boardroom.

"The move reflects common practice - all Glazer family members are involved in all the family's business interests," said a United spokesman.

Glazer, whose takeover was passionately opposed by a majority of United fans, is suffering from ill health following a recent second stroke. This latest appointment suggests the 78-year-old will be taking something of a backseat role in club proceedings.
