ManUtdWeb's visitors have rallied behind Ruud van Nistelrooy in our latest web poll. Some 74% of supporters would like to see the Dutchman starting up-front for United, but the player remains subject to massive transfer speculation surrounding his immediate future. Supporters have rallied behind out-of-favour Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy in ManUtdWeb's latest web-poll.

The Dutch international, currently preparing for the World Cup finals in Germany, looks set to depart the club over the summer following a much-publicised fall-out with Sir Alex Ferguson. The 150-goal hit man was dropped from the United XI for February's League Cup final, slipping onto the bench in favour of Louis Saha, whilst the player stormed away from Old Trafford after being left out of the match-day squad for the season's finale against Charlton Athletic.

Nevertheless, supporters have been quick to rally behind the 29-year-old star in our recent vote. Fans were asked whether they thought van Nistelrooy, Saha or both should be starting up front for the Red Devils. Some 74% feel Ruud should be starting up-front for United, 45% without Saha, 29% with Saha. It's another indication that is expected exit would be unpopular with supporters.

AC Milan are said to be leading the race for van Nistelrooy's signature, linked with a July swoop of £10million. However, speculation suggests there is also interest from Atletico Madrid and even Premiership champions Chelsea.
