Reports suggest that Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has been arrested on suspicion of rape. The club are refusing to comment on the accusation with the Portuguese star being questioned by Police. New Page 2

Manchester United F.C are refusing to comment on the news that winger Cristiano Ronaldo has been arrested and is currently being questioned by Police on accusation of rape.

Scotland Yard had confirmed that a man in his 20s was arrested after attending a pre-arranged appointment at a Police Station on Wednesday. The accusation of rape is believed to be linked to an incident that happened in a central London hotel in early October following United's Premier League victory at Fulham.

"We're not commenting at the moment," stated United's director of communications Phil Townsend.

Ronaldo is one of the highest-regarded young players in Europe and this allegation is certain to capture the newspaper headlines across the country.
