Queiroz Wants Helguera

According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid defender Ivan Helguera is being tempted with a move to Old Trafford by former boss and now United's No.2, Carlos Queiroz. Ruud van Nistelrooy has reiterated his intentions to stay at Old Trafford despite tempting links to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real


The Spain international is likely to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in January as Real look to cash in on the player, whose contract runs out at the end of the season.

Helguera himself would like to remain at Real, but may be tempted by a number of clubs seeking his signature. He revealed: "From January, I will have the freedom to listen to offers and Madrid know this."

Newcastle United, Juventus, Internazionale and Roma are just a handful of the clubs itching to have the 30-year-old on their books.
