Paul Scholes has issued a warning to his Manchester United team-mates, insisting the next two Premiership matches will be vital to their campaign.

The Red Devils face Blackburn Rovers this weekend and then take on Fulham, two games Paul Scholes claims United must win if they have any chance of league success.

"If we can't beat Blackburn and Fulham we have no hope of winning the league," said the Ginja-Ninja, who retired from international football not so long ago to focus his remaining years on United.

He continued: "It was against the lower teams that we dropped so many stupid points last season and why we fell so far behind. If we are to have any hopes this year we cannot afford to do that.

"Apart from Arsenal, Chelsea have not played many of the top teams while we have had three or four really tough games.

"We have dropped four points but I am sure Chelsea will drop points as well, we just can't afford to drop many more."
