Great Dane Peter Schmeichel is set to face Mark Bosnich in a one-off boxing match on a new TV show set to start within the next few months. Ruud van Nistelrooy has reiterated his intentions to stay at Old Trafford despite tempting links to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real


The two former Manchester United goalkeepers are to swap goalkeeper's gloves for boxing gloves and come face-to-face as the two get ready to rumble.

Old Trafford legend Schmeichel rose to fame in a United jersey, earning the title of one of the best goalkeepers to grace a football pitch by winning 5 Premiership titles, 3 F.A Cups, a League Cup and a prestigious Champions League at United.

Australian shot-stopper Bosnich had a shorter, less successful time in between the United sticks and a drugs ban effectively ended his football career but is still eager to play in the Premiership again.

Bosnich has boxing experience after defeating Radio 1 DJ Spoony in a charity event.
