With victories against Peterborough, Clyde and the Hong Kong national side under their belt, United saw off Beijing as Park Ji Sung bagged his first goal as a Red Devil after Paul Scholes found the net twice.

Luke Steele featured in between the sticks towards the end of the match and Alan Smith continued his run in midfield in the absence of skipper Roy Keane.

Ruud van Nistelrooy had a frustating afternoon in front of goal again, but Sir Alex Ferguson is sure the Dutchman will get back to his potent form. "Ruud is not lacking in confidence - I thought he did very well and he will score goals this season, I have no worries about that," insisted the Scotsman.

United broke the deadlock before the first-half when Paul Scholes headed home Darren Fletcher's sweet cross. The retired England international midfielder added a second moments later, poking home from Ruud van Nistelrooy's blocked effort.

Cristiano Ronaldo's half-time appearance was felt as the youngster teed up Park Ji Sung who earned his maiden goal as a Red Devil.

It's onto Japan next for the Red Devils to face Kashima Antlers and Urawa Reds.
