Eagles Makes Owls Switch

Sheffield Wednesday have signed Manchester United winger Christopher Eagles on loan until December 31st to cover for injured midfielder Jon-Paul McGovern. Ruud van Nistelrooy has reiterated his intentions to stay at Old Trafford despite tempting links to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real


McGovern, inspirational in the Owls' surge to the Championship, suffered a pre-season setback which rules him out of action for a few months.

Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock moved swiftly to replace the right-winger with young Red Devil Christopher Eagles, who will spend up until the new year at Hillsborough.

Despite interest from Charlton Athletic, Eagles sealed his loan move earlier today in time for the forthcoming Championship season.

The 19-year-old spent most of last season on loan with Watford and appeared 14 times in a Hornets jersey.
