Chief executive David Gill has insisted Manchester United have a bright future ahead of them despite the recent takeover of Malcolm Glazer.

Gill is also adamant he is will remain in the boardroom of Old Trafford amid speculation he will quit his post. The official also has nothing but positive things to say about the American family.

Speaking in an in-depth interview with MUTV, Gill put the record straight. "I know emotions are running high but quotes from various people calling the Glazers repulsive are not right.

"Those kind of comments by supposed fans repulse me and it makes me wonder what they think they are achieving.

"A very, very small minority of fans are doing both themselves and the great name of this club a disservice.

"I think we have a bright future."

This follows encouraging words from Sir Bobby Charlton, who also has taken a liken to the Glazers.
