Michael Stewart has completed an expected move to Hibernian today, putting pen-to-paper on a one year deal with the Scottish Premier League outfit.

Stewart joined his new Easter Road team-mates for pre-season training today and hopes to end a string of disappointing seasons, most recently with Hearts.

Confident Hibs manager Tony Mowbray predicts the 24-year-old will be a good acquisition, stating: "I have long admired Michael having watched him as a young boy at Manchester United reserves.

"He is a midfield player that can dictate the pace of the game with his passing ability.

"At Hibernian we play a style of football that I am sure will suit his game and I am confident we can provide Michael with the platform that gives him the opportunity to achieve his full potential and be the player we know he can be."

Stewart has been desperate for first-team action and thanks Mowbray for handing him a chance. "Tony Mowbray is a manager who is clearly going places with Hibernian and I am delighted to have been offered this opportunity."
