Yeovil Town have completed the long-awaited transfer of former Manchester United forward David Poole. The Football League One outfit have been negotiating a contract with the youngster for some time, with Poole officially released from Old Trafford last week.

Recently released Manchester United forward David Poole has finally completed his eagerly anticipated move to Yeovil Town. Glovers boss Gary Johnson was delighted to have snapped up his club's top attacking target and has also completed a deal for 6ft 7" defender Luke Oliver from Woking.

"David Poole is first of all a great capture for our club. To bring in a Manchester United youngster here is a real coup as normally Manchester United youngsters don't come this far south because teams up north know about these youngsters first." said Johnson, who lead the Gloucestershire side to promotion to Football League One this term.

"We invited David down to Yeovil and we were pleased that he accepted the invitation. From day one he became a Yeovil Town player and he really enjoyed being with us. He was here for three weeks solid during our end of season march and he was really happy to be involved. We wanted him as a player and he wanted to be a player with us as well. Manchester United obviously thought he could be a Premier League player so he has great potential and hopefully he can prove that he at Yeovil Town."

As ManUtdWeb previously reported, the West County outfit have been interested in signing Poole for some time and have been negotiating a contract with the youngster in recent weeks. It was confirmed that, with mass cutbacks to the United reserve ranks taking place, Poole had been released by Sir Alex Ferguson and he has now completed his move to Huish Park on a free transfer after agreeing terms.
