Manchester United's forgotten shot-stopper Ricardo Lopez has welcomed rumours stating Spanish outfit Getafe have made an approach for his services.

The former Spanish international goalkeeper has made just five senior appearances in a Red Devils jersey since signing from Real Valladolid three years ago for £1 million.

Ricardo, 33, spent a spell on loan with Racing recently and was tipped to challenge Tim Howard and Roy Carroll for the Number 1 jersey this season, but hasn't received a sniff of action.

Regarding Getafe's interest, he said: "It is a privilege that they are still interested in me and that I have a chance to return to Spain," 

"I am from Madrid so playing for Getafe is a great attraction. We shall see if things fall into place, although it is in the hands of my agent."

"The truth is that I have not had many minutes action. I have not had much of a chance to play. I ask myself 'why' and one day I will put that question to the boss"
