Manchester United winger Kieran Richardson has issued a message to Sir Alex Ferguson, claiming he's ready to fight for a more permanent place in the Red Devil's senior squad when he returns from a loan stint at West Bromwich Albion.

Richardson has been playing Reserve team football for a number of years since his capture from West Ham but impressive performances in a loan spell at the Hawthorns indicates England Under-21 international can compete at Premiership level.

Although Bryan Robson's Baggies remain in the dreaded relegation trap-door, disciplined performances as of late including wins against Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic show they can be apart of the 20 Premiership teams next term.

Richardson is aware of the current financial situation at United, and hopes to capitalise on that. "When you hear the club have no money to spend it is good. It gives you more chance of being brought on. Manchester United are a great club and there will always be competition but I'm up for the challenge"

"When I go back I think I will have a far greater chance of establishing myself in the first team" he added. I want to go back next season and be a regular, definitely"
