Manchester United's out-of-favour goalkeeper Ricardo Lopez is being teed up by a number of Championship and League One clubs to help with their busy fixture schedule ahead of them.

The hapless Spaniard has begged over and over again for a proper chance in-between the sticks for the Red Devils' senior squad, but Sir Alex Ferguson has shown his reluctance in handing Ricardo the Number 1 jersey.

With rumours circulating Roy Carroll will refuse to sign a new contract and American back-up Tim Howard is getting frustrated due to a lack of chances to revive himself, Sir Alex Ferguson may opt to snap up a new goalkeeper, pushing Ricardo to the back of the queue further.

The 33-year-old did enjoy a loan-spell with Spanish outfit Real Valladolid, but is itching for a permanent move away from Old Trafford.

In order to display himself in the shop window to clubs in Europe, United may loan him out to a Coca-Cola Championship side or indeed League One side to give him the chance to prove he's not rusty.
