Manchester United skipper Roy Keane today confirmed that he will retire from football when his current contract runs out in the summer of 2006. Keane, a signing from Nottingham Forest, has made over 450 appearances as a Red Devil and will finally call it a day next year. Hobbs in Trouble

Manchester United skipper Roy Keane today confirmed that he will retire from football when his current contract runs out in the summer of 2006.

Keane, a signing from Nottingham Forest, has made over 450 appearances as a Red Devil since making a switch from the City Ground almost 12 years ago.

The Irishman has written himself amongst Old Trafford's greats for dominating the holding-midfielder role for so long.

Captain-Marvel Keane, 33, has been on top form recently after a patch of dodgy form and recently bagged his 50th goal for United.

Keane confirmed: "When I signed my current contract I believed it would be my last playing contract and I still believe that to be the case.''

'Mentally I am enjoying my football."

''My hips feel good, my left knee was a bit sore but overall I am not that bad.
