Van Nistelrooy Set for Milan Return

Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is on course for a Champions League return against AC Milan in late Februry, when he would have shrugged off a nasty Achilles injury.

The Dutchman has been out of action in recent weeks when a calf-niggle turned into an Achilles problem, but with attacking back-up including the likes of Wayne Rooney, Alan Smith and Louis Saha, United haven't been short of goals.

However, the Red Devils will need their top striker in Europe to ease the challenge of recent Champions League holders AC Milan.

"He's doing very well. I spoke to him and he's coming along great." confirmed boss Sir Alex Ferguson

"He's started running now. We will hopefully have him for the AC Milan game."

The first tie will take place at Old Trafford on February 23rd.
