Manchester United will renew their acquaintance and lock-horns for a much-needed 3 points with arch-rivals Liverpool on Saturday at Anfield.

Liverpool will be parading their new Spanish singings Fernando Morientes and Mauricio Pellegrino, who are both expected to make their debuts in a Reds jersey against one of their new club's biggest foes.

The Red Devils already have one over on 'Pool this season, beating them 2-1 at Old Trafford in September. United also managed to pull off a 2-1 victory in last year's corresponding game thanks to a Ryan Giggs brace.

Despite 18 years of managing his side in these types of big-derby games, Sir Alex Ferguson still relishes the opportunity of occasion of playing Liverpool. "It is a game that raises the hairs on the back of my neck," said the Scotsman.

"Look at the history of the two clubs. Thirty-three championships between us. They have won the European Cup four times; we have won it twice. They have won the UEFA Cup twice - we have won the Cup-Winners' Cup. That is a fantastic record."

"But it's not just the history on the pitch - it is the industrial heritage of the two cities as well. When you put all that together you get some package. It really is a special game." Ferguson profoundly added.

New boss at Anfield, Rafael Benitez, has grown a decent reputation in England leading, like United, his side to the Carling Cup Semi Finals and currently lie in 5th spot.

Now the Spaniard has bolstered his squad with fellow countrymen Mauricio Pellegrino and Fernando Morientes, a £6 million signing from Real Madrid.

The former Real hitman will almost definitely feature at Anfield tomorrow and can't wait to get games under his belt. "I'm am only going to get match fit and regain my sharpness by playing games but hopefully that will come as quick as possible. I enjoyed my first training session in England this morning and now I just want to step out at Anfield with my new team-mates."

"You can't get a bigger game to make your debut in than Liverpool versus Manchester United. People have told me about how big this game is and I know it is just as big as Real versus Barca. I am really looking forward to it." Morientes added.
