United's 2-1 victory over the Scousers saw Ryan Giggs make his 600th appearance for the Red Devils, becoming only the third player at the club to achieve such a feat. The Welshman has an incredible medal tally since his United debut during the 1990/1991 season.

Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Liverpool was not just a game that could have kick-started the Red Devils' Premiership campaign, but it also saw one of the club's legends clock up another milestone. Ryan Giggs made his 600th appearance as United beat their arch-rivals in front of a packed Old Trafford, as the left winger continues to be one of the most influential players in the F.A Cup winners' squad.

The Welshman has become only the third player in the club's illustrious history to achieve such a feat, and although at the age of 30 his best days may be behind him, there is nothing to stop the star adding to his large tally of appearances. Giggs joins record appearance maker Sir Bobby Robson and Bill Foulkes in the Old Trafford 600-club.

Giggs has been a Manchester United player since the age of 14, and has achieved great things since signing for United's youth set-up nearly two decades ago. He made his senior debut during the 1990-91 season against Manchester City, whom he had represented at school of excellence level. It was an incredible performance from the livewire, who netted the only goal of the game to separate the two sides. He made his international debut for the Welsh against West Germany in 1991 as a substitute. Since then, he has gone onto to collect an amazing number of honours.

In addition to this, Giggs has helped United to several Charity Shield victories and has also picked up a number of individual honours. He has already made 600 United appearances, and has nearly 50 caps to boast about with eight goals on the international scene. All he has not achieved his representing the Welsh in a major championship.
