Rooney Hands In Transfer Request
England international Wayne Rooney has requested to be transferred to join either Manchester United or Newcastle United, who are both chasing the 18-year old England international.

A move away from Goodison park seems just a matter of time before the Everton board accept either the Red Devils' bid or the Magpies' bid to snap up the prodigy.

Everton are likely to accept bids in the region of £27 million for Rooney and have recently rejected respective attempts from the two clubs that are believed to be in the region of £23 million.

"This has been one of the hardest decisions of my life but I feel the time is now right for me to move forward with my career," claimed Rooney.

"The Euros were a fantastic experience for me, it made me realise I could play at the highest level."

He added: "To do that, I need to be with a club that is playing in Europe every year. I hope the Everton fans can come to understand my decision and I hope the transfer fee Everton Football Club receive will help the club move forward."
