According to reports, Manchester United boss
Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to add yet another foreign youngster to his
ever growing squad - this time Marouane Chamakh is the starlet linked.
Chamakh, 20, has established himself in his Bordeaux squad and fired half-a-dozen goals during last season's Ligue 1 campaign. Putting in performances so impressive, he earned a call-up to from his country, Morocco, to represent them in the 2004 African Cup of Nations. Old Trafford scouts were reportedly present during Bordeaux's 5-1 lambaste of Nice last weekend; a game that saw Chamakh score an impressive hat-trick. Sir Alex Ferguson is trying to give his youth-team and reserves a very cosmopolitan look by signing players from all over the world rather than home-based players. The Scotsman has already signed players from many countries including Spain, Italy, America, Finland, Togo and Brazil. |
