Manchester United forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to miss the whole of the 2004/2005 football season due to surgery on a troubled knee. The club confirmed the 31-year old underwent surgery in Sweden on the cartilage in his right knee. Hobbs in Trouble

Manchester United forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to miss the whole of the 2004/2005 football season due to surgery on a troubled knee.

The club confirmed the 31-year old underwent surgery in Sweden on the cartilage in his right knee and adds to a growing list of injury woes at Old Trafford.

"Ole Gunnar Solskjaer underwent an arthroscopy yesterday in Gothenburg. This unfortunately confirmed persistent damage to the articular cartilage of his right knee.

"He will undergo further treatment but it is likely that Ole will miss the whole of this season."

Norwegian international Solskjaer contemplated retirement from the game because of his knee that ruled him out for most of last season.
