Paris Saint Germain president Francis Graille has confirmed defender Gabriel Heinze is set to complete a £6 million move to Manchester United in the next few days.

The Argentina international has been regarded as one of the French League's top defenders and Sir Alex Ferguson has had his eye on the 26-year-old for some time.

"We are keeping in touch with Manchester United's chief executive (David Gill)." revealed Graille

"I am confident but we will see what happens in the coming days."

Defensive problems have been the reason why United haven't been that successful this season but Fergie must see Heinze as the right man to partner Rio Ferdinand in the centre of defence.
