Leeds United boss Kevin Blackwell has admitted that he expects forward Alan Smith to join rivals Manchester United in the next few days. Smith is looking to leave Elland Road after the Yorkshire outfit got relegated from the Premiership. Hobbs in Trouble

Newly-appointed Leeds United boss Kevin Blackwell has admitted that he expects forward Alan Smith to join rivals Manchester United in the next few days.

Smith is looking to leave Elland Road after the Yorkshire outfit got relegated from the Premiership and has attracted interest from all around Europe.

"I haven't spoken to anyone about that, but I anticipate that he won't be a Leeds United player after tomorrow," said Blackwell

"There's no love lost between Man United and Leeds, that's for sure." he continued.

"It would have been harder to swallow if we'd been in the same division as them, but we're not."

"On a footballing level, I admire his decision. If he wants to go and win things, he would have a great chance there."

A fee of around £7 million is expected to be paid despite his £10 million price-tag attached a few weeks ago.
