United's youth system has come under scrutiny from the media in recent years, with reports claiming that the academy is failing to live up to expectations following the number of quality products from the 1992 youth team, who laid the foundations for domestic and European success during the following years. However, in O'Shea, Ronaldo, Fletcher and Brown United have four youngster who look well equipped to enjoy long spells as first-team Manchester United players, with three of those names being nurtured by the coaches at youth level.

"I thought lads like O'Shea, Ronaldo, Fletcher and Brown were absolutely outstanding against Arsenal. Everyone had to stand up and be counted and everyone did. It was a good team performance." said the Irish midfielder.

"I think they all understand the value of discipline a little bit more and they have got their reward - the chance to play in the FA Cup Final.

"We showed great discipline to win at Villa Park and even though we will be facing a First Division team at Cardiff it's important that we show them the same respect that we showed Arsenal."
