Jeff Winter has been handed the responsibility of refereeing Manchester United's FA Cup clash with Millwall at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on May 22nd. This will be Winter's final game he referees before retiring in the summer after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 48. Hobbs in Trouble

Winter Handed FA Cup Responsibility
Jeff Winter has been handed the responsibility of refereeing Manchester United's FA Cup clash with Millwall at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on May 22nd.

This will be Winter's final game he referees before retiring in the summer after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 48 and it's a very big game indeed.

The FA Cup is The Red Devils' only chance of silverware this season after falling 12 points behind Arsenal in the league, being knocked out by Porto in the Champions League and making an early exit in the Carling Cup.

Winter and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson haven't seen eye-to-eye in the past. He once sent the Scotsman to view the remainder of United's league fixture with Newcastle at the start of the season from the stands after reacting to an lunging Andy O'Brien tackle on Ryan Giggs.

Most recently, Winter was involved in more controversy with United after dismissing defender Gary Neville after he headbutted former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder Steve McManaman.

Fergie dubbed Winter's actions as 'absolutely ludicrous' and has also called Stockton-based ref' a 'joke'.
