Carroll: "It's Still a Disappointing Season"

Manchester United 'keeper Roy Carroll believes that this season will still be a sub-standard one even if the Red Devils beat Millwall in May's F.A Cup Final. Carroll: "It's Still a Disappointing Season"
Red Devils 'keeper Roy Carroll believes that it will still be a disappointing season by Manchester United's standards even if they beat Millwall at the Millennium Stadium in May to lift the F.A Cup.

The Ulsterman kept goal as United booked their place in Cardiff for the cup final, and shone between the sticks as United kept a clean sheet to deny the holders a chance at winning their third consecutive F.A Cup. However, despite the clear jubilation from our supporters and players inside Villa Park on Saturday, Carroll believes the club will be disappointed at not challenging further for the Premiership title and in Europe.

"We had to win on Saturday to have any chance of lifting a trophy this season, so in that sense we have got what we wanted," said Carroll.

"There was also a bit of extra motivation because Arsenal were going for the treble and now we know our season will end with the kind of big game we all like to play in.

"After winning the Premiership last year, it would be nice to get another medal, but I think we would still regard it as a disappointing season."
