Manchester United captain Roy Keane has been handed a one-match ban by UEFA for his act of violet conduct during United's away tie against FC Porto in the Champions League 2nd round, which they eventually lost 2-1. The former Ireland international picked up a red card for stamping keeper Vitor Baia. Hobbs in Trouble

Skipper Handed With One Match Ban
Manchester United captain Roy Keane has been handed a one-match ban by UEFA for his act of 'violet conduct' during United's away tie against FC Porto in the Champions League 2nd round, which they eventually lost 2-1.

The former Ireland international picked up a red card during the latter stages of the game for 'violent conduct' to FC Porto's goalkeeper No. 99- Vitor Baia.

Consequently, Keane will now miss United's critical home tie against the Portuguese outfit and United now must win the game without the strong influence of Keano to progress to the quarter finals.  

Keane was recently named in Pele's Greatest 100 living footballers which also included 8 past and present United players such as the George Best, Ruud van Nistelrooy and great-Dane Peter Schmeichel.
