The victims of the car crash that caused United's reserve team game with Birmingham City to be postponed have been revealed. Phil Marsh and Callum Flanagan were in the car, with Marsh now being treated in hospital for serious injuries.

It has been revealed by Manchester United that the two players involved in a car crash outside the Carrington Training Complex were youngsters Phillip Marsh and Callum Flanagan.

Fortunately, Flanagan, who scored in Tuesday's Youth Cup victory over Manchester City, walked away from the crash with only minor injuries and is recovering at home. Sadly, Marsh has suffered from more serious injuries and is now recovering in Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.

A medical team was called out to help Marsh, who was trapped in the car for over an hour. The talented young starlet was then flown by helicopter to the hospital, and is now been treated for the series of injuries he developed.

United had been due to take on Birmingham City in reserve team action this evening, however as ManUtdWeb earlier reported, the game had to be postponed following the crash.

The accident comes 5-months after Manchester United striker Jimmy David died tragically in a car crash. The 21-year-old was on-loan at Watford when he died on the M40 last August.
