Darren Fletcher could be set to become the next captain of Scotland. The 19-year-old has made only a handful of appearances for the Red Devils, but Berti Vogts may see this as enough experience for the highly rated winger to be handed the honour of captaining his country, The vacancy has come up following Barry Ferguson's injury for Blackburn Rovers in their surprise 1-0 victory over struggling Newcastle United. The former Glasgow Rangers skipper has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken knee-cap, and therefore Vogts needs to find a new captain for the Tartan Army. "It's a terrible thing to happen," Vogts said on Ferguson's misfortune. "We've a series of friendlies and we're planning a
summer tour and we wanted him involved. Is Fletcher ready for such a huge step after only a few months as a member of the first-team United squad? Have your say on the ManUtdWeb messageboard. |
