Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Chinese sensation Dong Fangzhuo according to Dong’s current manager at Chinese outfit Dalian. The 18-year old striker has been tipped for big success in the future and impressed United boss Sir Alex Ferguson during a one-month trial at Carrington. The 18-year old striker has been tipped for big success in the future and impressed United boss Sir Alex Ferguson during a one-month trial at Carrington.

"The transfer of Dong Fangzhuo will be fixed this week," said Dalian manager Lin Lefeng.

The Chinese press claim that United will sign the wonderkid for around £3 million but earlier claims suggest that United will sign him on a long-term loan deal.

United legend and current director Sir Bobby Charlton admitted that he is excited about the deal and said the deal was a footballing and commercial move.

"It is both a football and commercial move.’’ Said Charlton

"But first of all we want a good player and when you have a good player, the commercial side comes into it.” He added.
