Manchester United youth coach and former United player Brain McClair has urged Sir Alex Ferguson to give a trial to Rushden & Diamonds striker Simeon Jackson. McClair spotted the 16-year old during United's 2-1 win over Rushden & Diamonds earlier this week and was quick to recommend him to Fergie Match Report

Manchester United youth coach and former United player Brain McClair has urged Sir Alex Ferguson to give a trial to Rushden & Diamonds striker Simeon Jackson.

McClair spotted the 16-year old during United's dramatic 2-1 win over Rushden & Diamonds earlier this week and was quick to recommend the player to Sir Alex.

Diamonds manager Brian Talbot has given his full blessing towards the trial, saying: "He goes with our blessing and it's lovely that our players are being recognised."

Jackson, a prolific goalscorer at youth level, commented on the chance of a lifetime and said: "When we played them (United) recentl and you could tell they had some of the best kids in the country. I'm now really looking forward to joining up with the squad."
