The United reserve side have beaten Bolton Wanderers on penalties in the Manchester Senior Cup group stages, following a 1-1 draw after normal time. The Red Devils won their opening game of the tournament 4-3 against Oldham Athletic. Match Report

United Reserves Win on Penalties in Senior Cup

Following their opening league victory of the season, the United reserve side have beaten Bolton Wanderers on penalties in the Manchester Senior Cup group stages, following a 1-1 draw after normal time.

Ricardo Vaz Te had given Bolton the lead at Moss Lane, but United equalised with only two minutes to go, and then had Roy Carroll to thank for saving Jonathan Walters' penalty in the shoot-out as Ricky Sbragia's side won 5-3.
