Woodley Sports 2-3 Manchester United Under-17's

A mixture of United’s youth and experienced reserve players thrashed Division 2 out-fit Swindon Town 4-1 at the county ground earlier this evening.

The first goal was from a Paul Tierney cross which was met by striker Eddie Johnson to put United in the lead.

United dominated throughout, with, defender Phil Bardsley heading home from a Neil Wood corner to double the visitors lead.

Moments later, United went further ahead after substitute Paul Picken’s superb curling shot went right past Swindon ‘keeper Griemink. 3-0 United.

With only minutes to got of the first half, Swindon gave themselves a glimmer of hope with David Duke volleying past Ben Williams in the United goal.

Instantly after the interval David Paul scored from a clumsy mistake from Swindon’s defence.

United XI played fine football all throughout the game and really deserved this win after drawing all their opening three pre-season friendlies.
