Veron to Chelsea???

Manchester United’s Argentine midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron is ‘on the verge’ of joining a new-look Chelsea team, according to his agent Fernando Hidalgo, for a fee of about half the 28million United paid Lazio for two years ago.

Veron’s agent and close friend Fernando Hidalgo is set to meet with Chelsea officials for the second time tomorrow to discuss wages for the 28-year-old. 

"The meeting with Chelsea on Wednesday is very important," said Hidalgo.

"Everything is OK at the moment but we will need to confirm what we discussed on Tuesday.

"If Seba is very happy with what Chelsea offer, then we will close the contract with Manchester United." 

Since Russian tycoon Roman Abramovic took over the London club, he has spent a massive 37million on players, like Wayne Bridge, and United target Damien Duff. 

Veron has failed to impress ‘critics’ since join United from Lazio in July 2001, but has found some form at the latter stages of last season.

Veron isn’t the only player to be linked away from Old Trafford, English midfielder Paul Scholes has made a statement saying that if he doesn’t get into the first team, he will be forced to move elsewhere.

While Scottish young-gun Michael Stewart has join Division 1 out-fit Nottingham Forest on a 1-year’s loan deal.
