"I'm Not Leaving" - Barthez

Fabien Barthez says he has no intention of leaving Manchester United despite all the transfer speculation that he will leave the club and before the new season.

"As far as I’m concerned, everything is going well," He told a French TV station.

"I’m 100%, no, 200% percent relaxed, I’m happy at Manchester, so I’m staying there," He added.

If Barthez does leave, San Jose Earthquakes’ USA international Tim Howard, or Blackburn’s Brad Friedel look set to replace him.

Barthez joined United two seasons ago in an attempt to solve the 'keeper crisis at Old Trafford since Peter Schmeichel had left.

Mark Bosnich, Massimo Taibi and Andy Goram had all played between the sticks for United the previous season but failed to fill the big boots of the Dane, but it was hoped Barthez's signing would bring some stability to the goalkeeping position.

Although the French World Cup winner has performed well, many of his high-profile errors have cost United points and it is believed Sir Alex Ferguson is looking for a new number one as he looks to conquer Europe.
