Manchester United have been paired alongside Fenerbahce, Feyenoord and Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League group stage.

The competition is a rarity in that it eludes United’s trophy cabinet – but Jose Mourinho’s men face a challenging pool stage, should they wish to change that.

The Red Devils were the first name pulled out of the hat at the draw in Monaco.

With Fenerbahce set to face the Red Devils, United could be reunited with former forward Robin van Persie, who himself has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League.

The Europa League campaign gets underway at Feyenoord on September 15th, before FC Zorya Luhansk visit Old Trafford a fortnight later.

Elsewhere, Southampton face Inter Milan, Sparta Prague and Hapoel Beer-Sheva, who came so close to knocking Celtic out of the Champions League play-offs.
