Manchester United bounced back from their pre-season hammering at the hands of Dortmund, with a comprehensive victory over Galatasary in a friendly contest played in Sweden.
The Chinese section of the International Champions Cup competition was deemed to have no winner in disappointing circumstances, following the postponement of the Manchester derby friendly.
Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils returned to action at the Ullevi Stadium, in Gothenburg, as an exciting, and unpredictable, season draws ever closer.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic marked his first appearance for United on his native soil, and got off to a dream start with a goal as United ultimately secured a comfortable win.
Ibra broke the deadlock early, before Gumus and Bruma turned the game on its head as Galatasary took control.
However, a second-half brace from Wayne Rooney, and a Fellaini header and a strike from Juan Mata Garcia ensured it was an ultimately comfortable win for United. It was a particularly encouraging second-half performance from Mourinho's men, after failing to capitalise on Ibra's opener before the interval.
Pre-season preparations for United conclude on Wednesday evening against Everton, in Wayne Rooney's testimonial at Old Trafford; before the Community Shield gets the new season underway with the Red Devils and Leicester City doing battle at Wembley Stadium.
