First AFCB visit since '89 as ground confirmed as smallest

When Manchester United travel to AFC Bournemouth's Dean Court next season, they will play at the smallest ground in Premier League history.

Dean Court's capacity is approximately 11,700.

The south coast club had hoped to increase the capacity ahead of the new season, but must prioritise other compulsory improvements to the arena.

It is anticipated that the capacity will be increased for the 2016/17 season, should Bournemouth successfully avoid relegation.

Under Eddie Howe's stewardship, the Cherries have enjoyed a stunning rise through the leagues, and won the Championship title only two years after claiming promotion to the second tier.

The Red Devils' last visit to the seaside town was in a 1989 FA Cup fifth round tie, with Sparky Hughes on target in a 1-1 draw.
